AHG is parent-led
Our troop is run by parents, grandparents, and other caring adults, so at least one adult from every family serves in a volunteer role or on a committee before a girl can sign up. There are in-person and at-home options for every schedule. All adult volunteers pass a background check, complete KEYS child-safety training, are approved by the troop's charter representative, and pay the $43 national dues.
Become a member
Once you choose a volunteer role, we'll invite your family to join AHG Troop 0800. You'll receive an email with a link to create your account at AHGfamily.org, complete the online registration, and pay national dues. AHG Family becomes your hub for the troop calendar, printable forms, and service hours.
Fill out the paperwork
Each form helps us keep girls safe. After you've joined AHG Family, complete the health, registration, and policy forms below for every girl and adult member. It looks like a lot, but each one has a purpose.
Parent meetings & the Joining Award
The Joining Award is your girl's first step as an American Heritage Girl, learning AHG's history, traditions, and customs so she can earn awards, take part in flag ceremonies, and say the Oath and Creed with her troop. Parent meetings happen a few times a year during regular troop meetings; please make every effort to attend.
Badges & beyond
Girls build life skills through badgework across six Frontiers (Heritage, Family Living, Arts, Outdoor Skills, Personal Well-Being, and Science & Technology). The troop earns three badges a year together, and girls can earn more at home, plus service stars for volunteer hours.
What it costs
Paid at AHGfamily.org for each girl and each volunteering adult. Goes directly to the national office.
Girls only, with discounts for 3+ girls in one family. The first $75 is due at the first meeting. Need a payment plan or assistance? Just email us.
Girls can raise $75 in profit through the troop fundraiser to satisfy the rest of local dues, or opt out with the $75 Fundraiser Buyout by November 1.
Each girl needs a Class A and Class B uniform and her level handbook (troop patch number 0800), plus the right skirt/pant colors and closed-toe shoes. At-home badges run about $3.50 each; camping and high-adventure days may cost extra.

- Health & Safety form, one per girl and per adult member

- Medication Administration form
- Troop Meeting Permission
- Parent Policy Agreement
Only if it applies
- Swim test form, signed by a certified lifeguard or swim coach
- High Adventure form, signed by a physician
